Generally speaking, yes. A professional voiceover gives a professional polish to your crowdfunding video that tells viewers your product or company is a serious business. It’s recorded on specialized recording equipment in a sound studio, so the finished narration combines the skill and training of a voice actor with the high quality output of a professional recording studio. A win-win.
However, if you want your video to have a “homemade feel”, it’s best to have the company founder or product creator read the voiceover. In some cases you can still use a voice talent in this scenario as well. Just be sure to be very clear in your instructions to voice actor that you are looking for a “homemade”, super-casual feel to the narration. A voiceover artist that is experienced will likely be able to deliver a read in this style for you, as long as they understand up front what you are going for.
